Designed for the more experienced rider who wants to roam further, ride faster and learn more about the landscape which has been carved out by Te Moeka o Tūawe/Fox Glacier over thousands of years.
Riding southward you will cross Bullock Creek and walk along the braided Cook River all the while getting to know your well-trained mount and listening to your guide who knows these parts like the “back of their hand”. At approximately halfway you will arrive at the Salt Water Flats where you can enjoy the exhilaration and freedom of trotting, cantering and/or galloping. It is also where, on a clear day you will be “wowed” by the wide and wonderful views of the unique West Coast landscape including the Te Tiritiri-o-te-Moana/Southern Alps. See if you can spot New Zealand’s highest peak, Aoraki/Mt Cook? You will make your way home via a trail that is chosen by your guide on the day.
